How I Got Here

Early Teens
The First Signs
I began experiencing hand tremors that puzzled everyone around me. Doctors eventually diagnosed me with Sialidosis Type 1 — a rare neurodegenerative condition that affects fewer than 100 known people worldwide.
Age 15
A New Normal
I began using a wheelchair. It wasn’t easy — but through patience, gratitude, and the unwavering support of my family, I grew stronger and more thankful for every day.
A Turning Point
Meeting Dan & Faith
I met Dan and Faith, siblings from Switzerland who also live with Sialidosis — yet lead vibrant, full lives. Their secret? A plant-based lifestyle. Learning how animal products could worsen our symptoms was a lightbulb moment.
2019
Going Vegan
I made the switch to a plant-based diet. It wasn’t overnight — I had to learn to read labels carefully and navigate a world not always built for vegans. But soon, I felt lighter, more focused, and energized. My tremors improved, and I found genuine peace.
Today
GenZVeganz is Born
I started GenZVeganz to share everything I’ve learned — recipes, restaurant finds, product reviews, and advocacy for Sialidosis research. From one Gen Z to another, I hope this space inspires you.

My Values

Compassion for All Living Things

Going vegan wasn’t just about health — it was about aligning my lifestyle with my love for animals and the planet. Every meal is a small act of kindness.

Radical Honesty

Every recipe, restaurant review, and product pick on this site is 100% my own unsponsored opinion. If something’s bad, I’ll say so. Always.

Chronic Illness Advocacy

Living with Sialidosis taught me that our bodies are resilient and worthy of care. I advocate loudly for rare disease awareness and accessible healthcare.

Budget-Friendly Always

Vegan food shouldn’t be expensive or exclusive. I always share where to find the best deals — Trader Joe’s, Costco, Amazon — so anyone can afford to eat well.

Sustainability Matters

Plant-based eating is one of the most effective things individuals can do for the environment. I try to make that case through joy, not guilt.

Community & Connection

The vegan community gave me so much when I needed it most. GenZVeganz is my way of giving back and welcoming everyone — beginners and veterans alike.

Understanding a

Rare Condition

Sialidosis Type 1 is a rare inherited lysosomal storage disorder that affects the nervous system. Fewer than 100 people worldwide are known to have it which makes finding community and funding research incredibly difficult.

What is Sialidosis?

A rare lysosomal storage disorder caused by a deficiency of the enzyme neuraminidase (NEU1), leading to progressive neurological symptoms.

How Rare Is It?

Fewer than 100 known cases worldwide. This rarity makes research funding extremely limited and a diagnosis a life-changing moment for any family.

Why a Vegan Diet Helps

Plant-based diets reduce systemic inflammation, support neurological function, and promote overall wellbeing — all of which have made a real difference for me personally.
